Curb-Ease began operations in June of 1999 with an initial capital investment of $50,000.00. Financing was secured through a Federal Guaranteed Small Business Development Loan, administered by the Bank of Nova Scotia. The company was originally formed as a proprietorship belonging to Garry Tynan.
The plan was to begin operating on a part time basis and build the business to a level where it could afford to support a full time effort. During the last 6 months of 1999 Curb-Ease generated good income and began to be recognized as a premium supplier of decorative landscape and commercial curbing.
One of the key differences between our Curb-Ease product and other curbing products is that we always use integral concrete colors in our mixes, thus our landscape curbs are colored throughout. Others use only a slurry mix or release powder, which provides a thin "short-term" color. Color chips and fades from these types of curbs quickly. At Curb-Ease we have built our name and reputation on premium quality workmanship, products and service.
The name Curb-Ease was trade marked in both the United States and Canada, allowing for future franchising considerations.
Over the years we have developed the best curb mix, the best colors and sealers, and the most efficient way of maximizing jobs in the business.
Curb-Ease now provides a complete turnkey business package designed for production. Curb-Ease has a unique line of integral colors, release agents, and a polymer modified/glass reinforced curb mix.
